As there were no good English medium schools in Vartak Nagar and Pokhran, the parents were compelled to send their children to far off schools in Thane City. There was a lot do inconvenience then, as the frequency of bus service was very poor. Late Rev. Fr. Valerian Goudinho took up the mission to establish a school.
