What you'll handle as a Yoga Teacher — Sevasadan English Medium School
Deliver curriculum, set and grade assessments, run parent-teacher conferences and support after-school enrichment.
Working in a CBSE school
CBSE schools value teachers comfortable with conceptual lesson design, art-integrated learning and NEP 2020-aligned pedagogy.
Working conditions
This is a day school — standard working hours with weekend off, occasional events and parent-teacher meetings.
About teaching in Pune
Pune has a healthy mix of CBSE, ICSE and IB schools, with strong demand around the academic-year onboarding cycle.
Common questions about this role
Do I have to work weekends?
Standard week is Monday to Saturday (often half-day Saturday). Occasional event Sundays exist (Annual Day, Sports Day, admissions test days) and are usually compensated with a comp-off.
How big are the classes?
Section sizes typically range from 25 to 40 students. The school will confirm exact section size during the interview based on the grade you'll teach.
Do I need CTET / STET to apply?
CBSE-affiliated schools strongly prefer (and many require) CTET/STET qualification for primary and TGT roles. Cleared candidates are usually shortlisted on priority.
How long does it take to hear back after applying?
Response times vary, but shortlisted candidates are typically contacted within a week. You'll get a notification on School Jobs India the moment the school updates your application status.
Will I get PF and statutory benefits?
Yes — established schools provide EPF (Provident Fund) and gratuity (after 5 years), and most also provide ESI for staff under the wage threshold. Specifics are spelled out in the offer letter.
About Sevasadan English Medium School
The Pune Sevasadan Society was started in the year 1909 by Late Smt. Ramabai Ranade (wife of Late Hon’ble Justice M. G. Ranade) with the help of social reformist Late Shri. G. K. Deodhor. The Society has been a pioneer Institution with a mission to serve the nation in the field of all round development and upliftment of the status of women. The Society’s work is well known and is held in high esteem by the Government of Maharashtra. The Society thereafter constructed a well-designed school building on this beautiful plot and an English Medium School for girls started functioning in the year 1997 with pre-primary classes and Std-I. However, due to pressing need of the hour and persistent demand from our parents and well-wishers, the broad-minded Society opened its admissions for boys too from the following academic year 1998-99. The School today, has classes running from Mini K. G. to Std-X.
