How does IGNOU B.Ed admission work?
IGNOU offers a 2-year B.Ed through Open and Distance Learning for in-service teachers only. Admission is through an entrance exam held once a year, and candidates must have two years of teaching experience.

Who can apply
- You are currently working as a teacher in a recognised school.
- You have at least two years of teaching experience on the date of admission.
- You hold a graduation degree (50% for General, 45% for reserved categories).
Admission process
- Notification — released around January each year on ignou.ac.in.
- Entrance exam — objective test covering general awareness, teaching aptitude, subject and language.
- Merit list and counselling — based on entrance score.
- Fee and enrolment — around ₹55,000 for the full 2-year programme (subject to revision).
