What is the full form of PGT?

PGT stands for Post Graduate Teacher. A PGT is a senior school teacher qualified to teach Classes 11 and 12 in Indian schools. The role requires a master's degree in the teaching subject plus a B.Ed, and it is the highest school-teaching tier below principal.

Where PGTs teach

• Government schools: KVS, NVS, DSSSB, state education boards
• CBSE, ICSE, IB and IGCSE senior secondary schools
• Classes 11 and 12 only

• Master's degree in the relevant subject (at least 50%)
