CBSE affiliation staffing rules: what boards check in 2026
8 min read · 7/2/2026 · Editorial Desk
The rules that actually get inspected
- Pupil-teacher ratio limits per section
- Minimum qualifications per teaching level (PRT/TGT/PGT)
- Subject-wise coverage for classes 9–12
- CTET/state-TET compliance where applicable
- Continuous professional development hours per teacher per year
The paperwork checklist
Keep signed appointment letters, verified degree copies, CTET/TET scorecards, and a maintained CPD register. Missing CPD logs are the most common inspection flag.
Where schools slip
Hiring a PGT with only a B.Ed and no post-graduation in the subject. Running Class 12 sections without a subject-qualified PGT. Not renewing part-time contracts before inspection windows.
Build a quarterly compliance review; do not treat it as an inspection-time sprint.
