Week 1 — Define the role, not the JD
Write a one-page role scorecard: subject, board familiarity, class taught in demo, top 3 outcomes for the year. Post the scorecard, not a JD.
Week 2 — Two-channel sourcing
Post on School Jobs In India and one subject-specific community. Ask three current teachers for one referral each. Avoid classified newspaper ads — they generate volume, not fit.
Week 3 — Demo lesson + panel
Run a 25-minute live demo with real students (or a mixed panel roleplaying). Score on 5 dimensions; two panelists minimum.
Week 4 — Offer + start plan
Offer within 48 hours of the final round. Share a 30-day onboarding plan with the offer letter — it doubles acceptance vs. offers with a bare CTC number.
What to skip
Aptitude tests unrelated to teaching, 6-round processes, and open-ended salary conversations before the demo.
