Most schools run weekly/monthly in-house PD sessions on pedagogy and assessment. Funded external workshops (board-specific or subject-specific) are offered to teachers in good standing.

Most reputable schools have a staff-child fee concession policy. Eligibility, percentage and number of children covered vary — ask HR for the written policy.
Do I need CTET / STET to apply?
CTET/STET is preferred for most board-affiliated school teaching roles. state-board schools differ in how strictly this is enforced — apply even if you don't have it, and clear it in parallel.

Day schools generally don't provide accommodation. The school may help with referrals to nearby PGs or rentals during your relocation.
Will I get PF and statutory benefits?
Yes — established schools provide EPF (Provident Fund) and gratuity (after 5 years), and most also provide ESI for staff under the wage threshold. Specifics are spelled out in the offer letter.
About Howrah Vivekananda Institution
Howrah Vivekananda Institution, a glowing name in the annals of education in West Bengal, set out on its journey in 1923 and it is still moving towards the development of young men. The institution named after the famous Hindu monk Swami Vivekananda still keeps up its old heritage in the academic firmament. Thanks to the initiative taken by a group of young men, the Ramkrishna Vivekananda Ashram was set up in 1916. Swami Shivanandaji, the then President of the Belur Math said to these young men , “Service or business is not your cup of tea. Rather set up a School.” Inspired by Shivanandaji, these young workers of the ashram took over “Saraswati Institution”, a primary school, in the locality. The name of the school was changed to “Vivekananda Institution” on 1st February, 1923.
