The Police Public School was initially started in 1976 as a "Day Care Centre" in DPL Jammu for the children of serving Police women. In 1994, the name of the school was changed to " Bal Niketan". In 2004, school was shifted from DPL Jammu to New Campus, Miran Sahib Jammu. The first batch of class 10th appeared in 2005-06 and class 12th in 2007-08. The school is affiliated with State Board of School Education Jammu.
