Overview
About the Role We are looking for a warm, caring, creative, and enthusiastic Montessori/KG Teacher to nurture young learners and provide a safe, stimulating, and engaging early-learning environment. The teacher will be responsible for supporting children's social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development through age-appropriate Montessori and play-based learning activities.
Key Responsibilities *Plan and conduct engaging lessons and activities for Kindergarten students. *Follow Montessori principles and age-appropriate teaching methodologies. *Create a child-friendly, safe, and stimulating classroom environment. *Introduce children to foundational concepts in language, numeracy, general awareness, and life skills. *Encourage children's curiosity, creativity, independence, and confidence. *Conduct storytelling, rhymes, music, art, craft, role play, and activity-based learning. *Use Montessori materials and hands-on activities effectively. *Observe and assess each child's learning, behaviour, interests, and developmental progress. *Maintain appropriate records of students' academic and developmental progress. *Provide individual attention and support according to each child's needs. *Develop good communication, social, motor, and self-help skills among students. *Maintain classroom discipline using positive and child-friendly approaches. *Communicate regularly with parents regarding children's progress and development. *Participate in school celebrations, events, activities, and teacher-training programmes. *Work collaboratively with other teachers and school staff.
Educational Qualifications *Diploma/Certificate in Montessori Teacher Training (NTT/Montessori). *Or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, English, or a related field. *ECCE/NTT/Montessori certification will be preferred.
Experience *Previous experience teaching Montessori, Nursery, LKG, or UKG students is preferred. *Experience in a CBSE school or structured early-years programme will be an advantage. *Freshers with Montessori/NTT qualifications and a genuine passion for working with young children may also be considered.
Desired Skills & Attributes *Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. *Fluent spoken English with good pronunciation. *Patient, caring, approachable, and child-friendly personality. *Creative and enthusiastic approach to early-years education. *Ability to engage young children through stories, activities, music, and play. *Good classroom management skills. *Ability to work effectively as part of a teaching team. *Professional, responsible, and committed attitude. *Genuine interest in the holistic development of young learners.
Location Preference *Preference may be given to candidates who are currently residing in or permanently based in Tuticorin, with a willingness to make a long-term commitment to the school.
