What is DSSSB and how do I apply for a Delhi government teacher job?

DSSSB (Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board) recruits teachers for Delhi Government, MCD and NDMC schools through a tier-1 & tier-2 CBT after a public notification.

DSSSB is Delhi's primary recruiting body for PRT, TGT, PGT, Assistant Teacher (Nursery), Special Educator and Physical Education Teacher posts across the Delhi Government Directorate of Education, MCD, NDMC and Delhi Cantonment schools.

Process:

  1. Notification (typically once a year) at dsssb.delhi.gov.in.
  2. Online application with photo, signature, CTET marks, category certificate.
  3. Tier-I CBT — 200 marks (GK, reasoning, arithmetic, English, Hindi).
  4. Tier-II CBT (subject-specific) — 200 marks for TGT/PGT.
  5. Document verification + medical.

Eligibility highlights:

  • PRT: 10+2 with 45% + D.El.Ed + CTET Paper I. Age ≤ 30.
  • TGT: Graduation with subject + B.Ed + CTET Paper II. Age ≤ 32.
  • PGT: PG with 50% in subject + B.Ed. Age ≤ 36.

Pay: Same as central 7th CPC — Level 7/8/8, in-hand ₹65,000–₹95,000 with Delhi HRA.

DSSSB does not sponsor coaching — prepare using NCERT (Classes 8–12), past DSSSB papers, and one comprehensive Lucent + Arihant combo. Expect a 6–9 month gap between notification and joining.
