Verified teacher profile: what employers actually check

Verification badges are the fastest-growing filter Indian schools use when they search School Jobs India. Here's exactly what each badge means, how long verification takes, and why verified profiles surface higher in employer search.

What gets verified

Four things: government ID, highest education degree, most recent experience (via an experience letter or offer letter), and — for senior roles — at least one professional reference. Each verification is independent; you can complete them one at a time.

Verifications are free and reviewed within 48 hours. You upload a scan or photo; a reviewer confirms it against the issuing institution's format and marks the badge visible.

Why verifications rank higher in employer search

Employers can filter for 'verified profiles only' — most do, especially for TGT / PGT / Principal roles. An unverified profile is functionally invisible to those searches, no matter how strong the content is.

Verified profiles also show verification badges in the profile card, which materially lifts click-through in employer lists. In our internal data, verified profiles receive around 3× more employer profile views.

What we do NOT show for unverified fields

If your ID, education or experience is unverified, we deliberately do not show 'ID not verified' or '0% verified' on your public profile — those labels only hurt candidates. Unverified fields are simply not surfaced.

That means the fastest way to add trust signals to your profile is to complete verifications, not to fill more fields. One verified education badge beats three unverified achievements.

How to complete verifications quickly

Government ID: upload Aadhaar, PAN or passport — masked appropriately. Education: highest degree certificate (or provisional certificate for recent graduates). Experience: most recent experience letter or an offer letter with joining date. Reference: name + designation + institutional email of one referee.

All four can be completed in about 10 minutes. Reviewers process most submissions within 48 hours; complex cases (international degrees, older institutions) can take up to a week.

After verification — how to keep the trust signal fresh

Re-verify experience each time you change schools. Add a new endorsement each year. Keep availability and city current. These small updates keep your profile in the 'recently active' surfaces employers see first.
