Confirm you meet the PRT qualification bar
Most private STATE schools ask for a graduate degree in the subject you'll teach plus a B.Ed. Government and Kendriya Vidyalaya roles additionally require CTET/TET (Paper I for Classes 1-5, Paper II for 6-8). International-curriculum schools accept IB or IGCSE certification in lieu of B.Ed. If you don't have a B.Ed. yet, D.El.Ed. is acceptable at most primary and pre-primary roles.

Applications submitted 4-6 weeks before the Mar–May peak land while schools are still shortlisting — off-cycle applications often arrive after decisions have been made.
