About the school: In 1896, Adventist Education opened their first school in India on 14 Bow Bazaar Street in the bustling city of Calcutta (now Kolkata). Georgia A. Burrus and Martha May Taylor, two young Americans, administered the school where there were seventy girls in the first year.
