About the school: The story of the Taraben Master School starts almost six decades ago in April 1953 with the establishment of a nursery school in Santacruz, then a lovely green and sparsely populated suburb. By 1972 plans were implemented to initiate the construction of a new school building, on land leased by the government of Maharashtra. 1975 saw the completion of the project with a brand new school building and sports ground, with great help from public and business contributions. The various levels of the school* have been consolidated under the Public Charitable Trust known as the Santacruz West Education Society (SWES).
