What are the CTET eligibility requirements in 2026?
CTET requires a 50% graduate degree plus a B.Ed or D.El.Ed. Paper-I is for Classes I–V, Paper-II for VI–VIII.
CTET 2026 eligibility
Paper-I (Primary, Classes I–V) — any one of:
- Senior Secondary (50%) + 2-year D.El.Ed (final year eligible)
- Senior Secondary (50%) + 4-year B.El.Ed / B.A.Ed / B.Sc.Ed
- Graduation + 2-year D.El.Ed
Paper-II (Upper Primary, VI–VIII) — any one of:
- Graduation (50%) + 2-year B.Ed
- Graduation + 4-year B.A.Ed / B.Sc.Ed
- Senior Secondary (50%) + 4-year B.El.Ed
SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates get 5% relaxation. CTET is mandatory for KVS/NVS and most CBSE schools.
