What are the passing marks and cutoff for CTET?
To clear CTET you need 60% (90 out of 150) for the General category, and 55% (82.5 out of 150) for SC, ST, OBC, PwD and Ex-Servicemen categories. There is no separate paper-wise cutoff; you need the qualifying percentage in the paper you appear for.

This qualifying percentage is fixed by the NCTE and is not affected by the number of candidates who appear — CTET is a qualifying test, not a competitive one.

What clearing CTET actually gets you
CTET is a qualifying exam, not a job guarantee. Clearing it makes you eligible to apply for:
- KVS, NVS, Kendriya Vidyalayas and other central government schools.
- DSSSB in Delhi.
- Most CBSE-affiliated private schools (some now require it).
You still need to clear the recruitment exam for the specific board (KVS TGT, DSSSB PRT etc.) to actually get hired.
Validity
Since the 2021 notification, a CTET certificate is valid for a lifetime.
