How do I get a teaching job in Navodaya Vidyalaya (NVS)?

Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) runs ~660 fully-residential co-ed schools for talented rural students, one per district.

Qualifications:

• PGT: PG with 50% + B.Ed, age 40.
• TGT: Graduation with 50% (specific subject combinations) + B.Ed + CTET, age 35.
• Miscellaneous Category Teachers (Music, Art, PET): subject-specific degree + B.Ed, age 35.

Selection:

1. Online CBT (180 questions in 3 hours).
2. Demo teaching + interview.
3. Medical + document verification.

Key differentiator from KVS: NVS teachers must reside on-campus and often supervise hostel duties. Additional Rural / Residential allowances are payable, and pay is Level 8 of 7th CPC (basic ~₹47,600, in-hand ₹75,000–₹95,000).
