How do I prepare for a B.Ed entrance exam?

Focus on general knowledge, English/Hindi comprehension, reasoning, teaching aptitude and your subject specialisation. Solve at least 5 years of past papers.

Most state B.Ed CETs (Bihar B.Ed CET, UP B.Ed JEE, MAH B.Ed CET, IGNOU B.Ed) follow a similar pattern with 100–200 objective questions.

Section-wise strategy:

  • Language (English & Hindi/regional): grammar, vocabulary, comprehension — use NCERT Class 8–10 grammar books.
  • General Awareness: current affairs (last 6 months), Indian polity, geography, education-in-news.
  • Logical & Numerical Reasoning: series, syllogisms, blood relations, DI.
  • Teaching Aptitude: child psychology basics, classroom management scenarios.
  • Subject Ability: deep prep of your intended teaching subject at graduation level.

Solve 5+ years of past papers and take at least 15 timed mocks. State-level cut-offs range from 40% (general) to 30% (reserved). Aim for 60%+ to secure a top government college.
