What is UP Super-TET and how is it different from UPTET?
UPTET is the eligibility test — a prerequisite. Super-TET is the actual recruitment exam that UP-BASIC Shiksha Parishad uses to fill Assistant Teacher vacancies.
Uttar Pradesh runs a two-stage teacher hiring model unique to the state.
Stage 1 — UPTET: Once-a-year eligibility test conducted by UPBEB (upbasiceduboard.gov.in). Similar to CTET, it certifies you as eligible to teach — but it does not offer a job.
Stage 2 — UP Assistant Teacher Recruitment Test ("Super-TET"): Conducted only when there are actual Assistant Teacher vacancies in UP government primary/upper-primary schools. Only UPTET-qualified candidates can appear.
Super-TET structure:
- 150 objective questions, 2.5 hours
- Sections: Language (40), Science & Maths (30), Environmental Studies (10), General Studies + Current Affairs (30), Logical Reasoning (5), Info Tech + Life Skills (15), Teaching Aptitude (10), CBM (10)
- Merit list = 70% Super-TET + 10% Class 10 + 10% Class 12 + 10% graduation
Pay: Level 7 of 7th CPC — basic ₹44,900, in-hand ₹58,000–₹65,000 with UP allowances.
The last major cycle was the 69,000 Assistant Teacher recruitment. Watch upbasiceduboard.gov.in and updeled.gov.in for the next notification.
