Teacher Hiring Report India Q1 2026

Methodology

Counts every teacher and school-staff job first posted on School Jobs India during the quarter (India time), including jobs that have since closed, expired or been filled; jobs removed by moderation are excluded. Roles are grouped into families (all TGT subjects count as TGT). City spellings are folded into one city (Bengaluru → Bangalore, Gurugram → Gurgaon). City tiers: Tier 1 = the eight metros (Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad); Tier 2 = every other city with a city page on this site; Tier 3 = all other towns. Schools post salaries per month; a posted range above ₹2,00,000 is treated as annual CTC and divided by 12. Median pay is the median of each posting's salary midpoint, among postings that disclosed one. Seasonality covers the 24 months ending with the quarter. Note: this edition is computed from the most recent 5,000 postings of the quarter.
